How to get Rs100 petrol relief under govt scheme, details revealed
The government has announced Rs100 per litre petrol relief for motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi vehicles and small cars under a new scheme.
How to register for petrol relief
The Ministry of Information Technology has issued the procedure for getting the petrol relief. Citizens will have to send REG followed by their CNIC number to 9771.
Applicants will also need to provide their vehicle number, provincial code and registration date. These details will be used to verify eligibility for the relief scheme.
How to get the fuel token
The ministry said eligible citizens will need to send TOK to 9771 to receive a fuel token. The token can then be shown at participating petrol stations to get petrol at the reduced price.
The government has set different monthly limits for different types of vehicles. Motorcycle and Qingqi owners can receive relief on up to 20 litres of petrol each month.
Relief for small cars
Owners of cars with engines up to 800cc will be eligible for discounted petrol on up to 30 litres per month. The government said the relief will provide Rs100 off per litre for eligible citizens.
The scheme will begin in Islamabad from the night between Monday and Tuesday. In other parts of the country, the petrol relief will become available from the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
