Fake “Punjab E-Bike” registration website raises concerns among applicants
A review of the website reveals multiple warning signs, including the insertion of irrelevant keywords and links that direct users to third-party gambling and online gaming websites. Some of these external pages even advertise opportunities to earn real money, raising concerns about the portal's credibility and security.
Another major issue is the absence of any official government branding or ownership details. The website is also not linked or referenced on any verified Punjab government platform, making its authenticity highly doubtful.

The Punjab government has officially announced plans to expand its electric bike initiative, under which 100,000 electric bikes will be provided over the coming year. As part of the program, eligible applicants will receive a Rs. 70,000 subsidy for each electric bike.

According to the announced policy, male students will be required to pay a Rs. 14,000 down payment, followed by interest-free monthly installments of Rs. 2,100.
For female students, the provincial government will cover both the down payment and registration charges, meaning they will only need to pay the monthly installments.
Despite the announcement of the scheme, the Punjab government has not yet introduced an official online registration portal or released the complete application process.
Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious and avoid entering personal, financial, or sensitive information on unverified websites claiming to offer registration for the electric bike scheme.
