CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz expands the Electro bus service to Khanewal
During the meeting, the chief minister announced that the electric bus service would soon be extended to Tulamba, Mian Channu, and other areas of Khanewal district. She also directed authorities to begin, at the earliest, the reconstruction and repair of the damaged bridge on the Khaliqabad-Tulamba Road SM Link.
The chief minister said the electric bus facility was the right of the people of Khanewal, Jahanian, and Kabirwala, not a favour. Moreover, she said, the provincial government was bringing 1,500 electric buses for people across Punjab.
Electric bus services have already launched on 13 routes across six districts, including Khushab, Khanewal, Bhakkar, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafizabad. In Khanewal, the service currently operates on the Khanewal-Jahanian and Kabirwala routes, with nine buses deployed in the district.

Under the next phase, the Punjab government plans to launch electric bus services in 14 additional districts by the end of July, including Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Okara.
MPA Amir Hayat Hiraj said the people of Khanewal saluted the chief minister for introducing what he described as Pakistan's most modern bus service.
MPA Rana Muhammad Saleem said the launch marked the beginning of a new and modern transport culture, while MPA Akbar Hayat Hiraj called the service nothing short of a blessing for the people of Kabirwala and adjoining areas.
MPA Chaudhry Ziaur Rehman said the people of Jahanian and the surrounding localities were grateful to the chief minister for the electro bus launch.
