Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has confirmedthe date and smart assessment syllabus for Grade 8 across the province. The minister shared the update on social media and gave general details about timing and content.
He said the Grade 8 Assessment Exam will cover four subjects and will be conducted over four days. He wrote, “Inshallah, Grade 8 Assessment Exam will be conducted for four subjects over four days.” The statement aims to reassure students and parents.
Rana Sikandar also said the smart syllabus for Grade 8 and Grade 11 will be announced next week. He added, “Smart syllabus for Grade 8 and Grade 11 to be announced next week, Inshallah.” Officials said this follows earlier action on Grades 9 and 10.
The minister had confirmed that the smart syllabus for Grades 9 and 10 was uploaded on the official websites of all education boards and the School Education Department. Schools have been advised to review the material and prepare accordingly.
Officials said these steps are part of reforms to make the academic process more structured, reduce student workload, and improve evaluation and clarity across Punjab. The smart syllabus aims to focus learning and ease assessment.
School administrators welcomed the timeline. They said a defined exam schedule and updated syllabuses will help teachers plan lessons and students revise effectively.

Officials urged schools to circulate official notices and ensure students receive accurate information. Teachers are being asked to conduct revisionary sessions as exams will be conducted according to new smart syllabus.
