(Web Desk): The Punjab government has approved the establishment of a Command and Control Centre on Lahore Ring Road.

According to details Command and Control Centre at ring road will ensure strict monitoring of all vehicles and improved traffic management across the route.

According to official details, Provincial Minister for Construction and Communications, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth, has given formal approval for the project, which will be set up at the Ring Road Authority’s Head Office. During a detailed briefing, the minister was informed that the Command and Control Centre will enable real-time monitoring of over 150,000 vehicles daily.

The system will be equipped with AI-powered cameras, speed radars and weight stations, all integrated into an Intelligent Transport System (ITS). It will help track speeding, traffic violations, and mobile phone usage while driving. The monitoring system will also assist in ensuring road safety and maintaining discipline among drivers.

The centre will feature 42 large display screens and 20 analytical screens, allowing officials to analyze traffic flow and detect violations instantly. The entire project, costing Rs871 million, is expected to be completed within four months.

Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth stated that this modern system will transform Lahore Ring Road into a fully smart, AI-assisted transport corridor. He added that the Ring Road Authority’s HR Wing will manage and operate the Command and Control Centre once it becomes functional.
