Punjab govt ends holiday speculation or schools and colleges

(Web Desk): Punjab government dismisses social media rumors, confirming no extension in school and college holidays across the province.

The Punjab government has officially confirmed that school and college holidays will not be extended, putting an end to rumors widely circulating on social media platforms.

Authorities have urged parents, students, and teachers to ignore unverified information and rely only on official notifications regarding the status of educational institutions. Officials from the Punjab School Education Department and the Higher Education Department clarified that no decision has been taken to extend holidays for schools, colleges, or universities across the province.

According to the departments, all public and private schools, colleges, and higher educational institutions will resume classes as per the previously announced schedule. Officials stressed that claims suggesting an extension of holidays are false and misleading.

In recent days, several WhatsApp messages and social media posts claimed that holidays were being extended due to weather conditions and other unspecified reasons. However, the Punjab government stated that no such summary is under consideration and no official notification has been issued in this regard.

Authorities warned that the spread of unverified information can cause unnecessary confusion among students and parents, disrupt academic planning, and affect attendance. The government emphasized that only announcements issued through official government websites and verified social media accounts should be trusted.

Education department spokespersons further said that action may be taken against individuals or pages deliberately spreading fake news about school and college holidays. They reiterated that any future decision regarding holidays will be communicated through proper and official channels.

The Punjab government advised students and parents to prepare for the reopening of institutions as scheduled and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth continuation of academic activities.
