Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will distribute laptops to students in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, as the nationwide rollout continues.
Laptop distribution in AJK
According to officials, the laptop distribution ceremony will be held at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad. Eligible students will receive laptops to support their academic work, research, and digital learning needs. The initiative reflects the federal government’s focus on youth empowerment through technology.
Boosting education through technology
The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme aims to provide students with modern tools that help improve learning outcomes. Officials say the program supports skill development, innovation, and access to global knowledge platforms. The government believes digital access is key to preparing students for future challenges.
Expansion across provinces
The AJK phase follows the recent expansion of the laptop scheme to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Last week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the initiative at the University of Haripur, where he stressed that the program is not just about distributing laptops. He said it is part of a broader vision to help Pakistani students compete at the international level.
Strong national impact
Government sources revealed that more than one million students across Pakistan have already benefited from previous phases of the laptop scheme. Officials, student leaders, and beneficiaries attended the Haripur ceremony and welcomed the continuation of the program.
