LAHORE: (Web Desk) The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan (Global UGRAD) has been ended officially after 15 years of operation.

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) announced that the U.S. Department of State has informed them that the Global UGRAD-Pakistan Program will no longer be available.

The halt of the exchange programme will stop thousands of Pakistanis to visit the United States for academic excellence.

The programme was known for enhancing academic growth, promoting cultural exchange, and fostering leadership development.

In a statement, USEFP acknowledged that the closure of the programme may be disappointing for many, particularly for students who had applied this year with hopes of participating.

However, the foundation expressed pride in the transformative experiences the programme offered and the lasting impact of its alumni.

"While this chapter is closing, we encourage you to explore other exchange and scholarship opportunities that align with your goals," the statement noted.

The program, which spanned 15 years, became a symbol of educational collaboration between Pakistan and the United States.

Its end marks the conclusion of a significant era in academic exchanges for Pakistani undergraduates.
