KARACHI: (Web Desk) The Sindh Education Department has introduced a comprehensive code of conduct for teachers across the province.

The new code of conduct outlines strict guidelines on attire, behavior, and professional ethics.

According to the new guidelines, women teachers are advised to avoid excessive makeup and high heels, while male teachers are discouraged from wearing casual clothing such as T-shirts and jeans. In addition, female teachers are encouraged to wear traditional attire with minimal accessories.

The department has also enforced a strict ban on the consumption of narcotics, gutka, naswar, mawa, and smoking within school premises. Moreover, teachers are prohibited from assigning personal tasks to students.

In an another move, the Sindh Education Department recently uncovered nearly 5,000 ghost teachers who were receiving salaries without performing their duties. Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has directed their removal from the payroll and approved disciplinary action against them.
