Following Pakistan’s bold counterstrike and principled diplomatic stance, U.S. President Donald Trump officially confirmed that both nations have now agreed to a ceasefire. The world has taken note — and the credit clearly belongs to Pakistan’s leadership and armed forces, who acted with both strength and restraint.
“After overnight efforts, Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire. Congratulations to both nations for showing wisdom,” Trump posted on X (formerly Twitter) — a message seen by many as an acknowledgment of Pakistan’s maturity under pressure.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had advised postponing PSL 10’s remaining eight matches amid the escalating regional tension caused by India’s reckless and irresponsible aggression, which killed civilians and violated Pakistan’s sovereignty.
“The PSL was respectfully paused because the attention of every Pakistani — including our athletes — was with our brave armed forces defending the nation,” said PM Shehbaz in an official statement.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) followed suit, announcing the temporary suspension of the tournament. The board stated that while cricket is a unifying national force, respect for national priorities and solidarity must take precedence.
“Cricket brings us joy, but when our nation is under direct threat, unity comes first,” read the PCB statement. “We also value the concerns of our international players and their families.”
Now, with tensions de-escalating thanks to Pakistan’s strong position and responsible leadership, PSL 10 is expected to resume soon. Sources suggest that the PCB is reviewing the situation and may announce new dates in the coming days — a moment that will once again bring celebration and unity back to Pakistan’s stadiums.
As Pakistan’s armed forces remain vigilant and diplomatic channels stay active, the people of Pakistan can take pride in knowing their country stood tall, defended peace, and upheld sovereignty without compromise.
