Contrary to recent rumors of an 80% fee hike, PMDC clarified that the increase in examination fees is minimal and solely aimed at covering the operational costs, security measures, and logistical arrangements for conducting the test smoothly. The MDCAT fee has been increased by only 1,000 PKR, which is a 12.5% rise, bringing the total fee to 9,000 PKR.
The registration for MDCAT 2025 began on August 8 and will continue until August 25. However, candidates can still register by paying a late fee until September 1, 2025.
The local candidates registration fee is Rs9,000, which rises to Rs13,000 with the late fee. Overseas candidates fee is Rs45,000, which increases to Rs55,000 if registering late.

MDCAT will be conducted in English and held in a paper-based format. The exam will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) across various subjects relevant to medical and dental studies. Importantly, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers, providing candidates with an opportunity to attempt all questions without the risk of penalty.
PMDC’s official statement aims to clear confusion and assure students that the fee adjustment is reasonable and necessary to maintain the quality and security of the exam. Students preparing for admission into medical and dental colleges across Pakistan are encouraged to complete their registrations within the given timeline to avoid any last-minute issues.
