Twenty-four educational institutions in Islamabad will remain closed from Tuesday due to security arrangements in the federal capital, according to sources.

The institutions are being used to accommodate police personnel, leading authorities to suspend teaching activities at the listed campuses. Similar reports said police and other security personnel have been deployed or accommodated at several schools amid preparations for expected protests in the capital.

Officials have clarified that educational institutions not included in the closure list will continue operating according to their normal schedules.

Schools affected across Islamabad

The institutions affected by the decision are located in several areas of the capital, including G-6, F-6, F-7 and G-7.

Schools in Tarnol, Sanjani, Sihala and the Rawal Dam area are also included in the list of institutions that will remain closed.

The reported list includes several Islamabad Model Schools, Islamabad Model Colleges and other government educational institutions.

Security arrangements continue

The closure comes as security measures are being strengthened across Islamabad ahead of expected political activity and protests. Authorities have increased deployments and introduced additional security measures around key areas of the capital.

The temporary closure is linked to the use of selected educational buildings for security arrangements rather than a citywide suspension of educational activities.

Parents and students have been advised to follow updates from their respective institutions regarding classes and any further changes to the schedule.
