Punjab approves summary for school teacher interns’ recruitment
The programme aims to help address the shortage of teachers in government schools.
STIs to report this week
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that School Teacher Interns (STIs) will report to schools during the current week. The recruitment has been approved on a temporary basis to provide teaching services in government schools.
The teacher interns will work at primary, elementary and secondary levels. They will be given teaching responsibilities according to the requirements of the schools.
Recruitment to address teacher shortage
The Punjab government says the main purpose of the STI programme is to fill gaps caused by a shortage of teachers in government schools. The recruitment is expected to provide additional teaching support where it is needed.
The programme will place teacher interns on temporary teaching assignments. Their services will cover different levels of school education across Punjab.
