Punjab approves one-month summer camps in schools
The Punjab School Education Department has allowed government and private schools across the province to organize summer camps for one month, providing students with an opportunity to continue educational activities during the summer break.
According to an official notification, summer camps will be held from June 1 to June 30. The camps will operate from Monday to Thursday between 7am and 10am, while no activities will be conducted on Fridays.
Education Department officials said that students from all classes can participate in the summer camps. However, attendance will remain voluntary, and schools must obtain parental consent before enrolling students.
The department has made it clear that private schools will not be allowed to charge any additional fees for summer camp activities, ensuring that parents are not burdened with extra costs. Authorities have directed schools to conduct all camp activities inside classrooms and other indoor facilities to protect students from extreme weather conditions.

School administrations have also been instructed to ensure the availability of cold drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, functioning fans, and power backup arrangements throughout the camp period.
Officials further stated that students attending summer camps will not be required to wear school uniforms. Instead, they may wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather.
The School Education Department has warned that strict legal action will be taken against any institution found violating government instructions or safety guidelines. The initiative aims to help students remain academically engaged during the summer break while ensuring their comfort and safety during the hot weather season.
