Punjab adds 3 more cities as MDCAT 2026 test centers
In a major relief for aspiring medical students, the government has decided to establish Mianwali MDCAT center, Layyah MDCAT center, and Bahawalnagar MDCAT center for the first time. The decision is expected to help thousands of candidates from remote areas by reducing travel time and expenses.
Officials said the expansion of Punjab MDCAT centers aims to make the admission process easier and more accessible. In previous years, many students had to travel to other districts to take the exam, creating additional financial and logistical challenges.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has been directed to complete all arrangements for the new examination venues before the test.
Authorities believe the addition of the Mianwali MDCAT center, Layyah MDCAT center, and Bahawalnagar MDCAT center will improve convenience and encourage wider participation.

With the latest expansion, MDCAT 2026 Punjab will now be conducted in 15 cities across the province, compared to 12 cities last year.
The number of Punjab MDCAT centers will also increase from 26 to 32, allowing more students to appear in locations closer to their homes.
Officials said the growing network of Punjab MDCAT centers reflects efforts to provide equal educational opportunities across Punjab. Students from underserved districts are expected to benefit the most from the initiative.
The Mianwali MDCAT center, Layyah MDCAT center, and Bahawalnagar MDCAT center are being introduced to reduce pressure on existing venues and improve the overall examination experience.
The MDCAT examination for the current academic year is scheduled to be held on August 16.
