(Web Desk): The matriculation English paper was leaked online in Sindh’s several districts, leading to widespread cheating and exposing failures in anti-cheating measures. Calls for a full investigation and strict action are growing.

Widespread irregularities disrupted matriculation exams in Sindh as the English paper was leaked online on Monday, hours before the exam commenced in Khairpur, Ghotki, and Ubauro districts, highlighting serious lapses in the administration’s anti-cheating measures.

The leak quickly spread on social media, with students forming WhatsApp groups to share cheating material.

Instances of cheating were reported at examination centers in higher secondary schools in Khambarah, Reti, and Kamon Shaheed.

The Sindh Education Department’s recently introduced watermark system also failed to prevent the malpractice.

Despite Section 144 being enforced around exam centres to restrict unauthorized entry, witnesses reported large crowds outside the halls, pointing to weak local enforcement.

Raiding teams tasked with preventing cheating reportedly remained inactive in their offices while violations continued unchecked.

District administrations’ inability to enforce examination rules has drawn sharp criticism from education activists and concerned citizens.

Calls are mounting for a comprehensive investigation into the paper leaks and decisive action against those enabling widespread cheating in the province’s examination system.
