HEC changes degree verification process - visit e-portal for fast service now
Officials said the platform is currently in a transition phase and is expected to be fully functional for all users by June 30, 2026.
The move is designed to simplify degree verification for students, universities, and employers. The new system removes physical visits and paperwork, shifting everything to an online process through its e-portal.
Major step towards digital education verification
HEC has taken a major step to modernize Pakistan’s education verification system. The new digital setup aims to reduce delays, eliminate manual handling, and improve transparency in academic record checks.
Blockchain-based secure system introduced
The new system is powered by blockchain technology, which ensures that academic records cannot be altered or tampered with. This adds a strong layer of security and trust to degree verification.
Partnership with tech companies
To build and support this system, HEC has partnered with CMPak Zong and Wibbow Technologies. The collaboration is focused on creating a strong, paperless digital infrastructure for education records.
Step-by-step online registration process
Applicants will now start their process online by visiting the HEC e-portal at eservices.hec.gov.pk. Users must register and complete their profile with accurate personal details.
Document upload and requirements
In the next step, users will upload scanned copies of their academic documents. This includes degrees and transcripts starting from Matric level to higher education.
University verification through digital dashboard
After submission, universities will verify the uploaded documents using a dedicated online dashboard. This ensures accuracy before forwarding records to HEC.
Final attestation stored on blockchain
Once verified, all academic records are securely stored on the blockchain system. This guarantees permanent, tamper-proof record keeping.
Instant sharing with employers and institutions
After completion, verified credentials can be shared instantly with employers, universities, and government authorities. This significantly speeds up the verification process.
Benefits for students and graduates
The system is expected to save time, reduce hassle, and improve trust in academic qualifications. Students will no longer need to visit offices physically for attestation.
Challenges and awareness needed
Officials also highlighted that users must learn how to use the system properly. Its success will depend on smooth implementation and public awareness about the new digital process.
