The online portal is now live and applications can be submitted until April 20, 2026.
Private university students now allowed to apply
The government has also allowed students from private universities to apply which has increased interest among thousands of students. Students facing email issues are advised to contact their college or university focal person to correct their details before applying.
More universities included in laptop scheme
All federal chartered universities have been included in the program expanding its reach across more institutions. Allama Iqbal Open University is also part of the scheme allowing its students to benefit.
Who can apply for CM Punjab laptop program
To apply students must have a domicile from any district of Punjab and must be currently enrolled in eligible programs. These include first or second semester BS students in public universities colleges or selected private and federal institutions.
Medical dental and nursing students eligibility
Students enrolled in public medical and dental colleges or nursing colleges can also apply under the scheme. The admission session for eligibility must be 2025 according to the official criteria.
Minimum marks criteria explained
For BS programs students must have at least 65% marks in Intermediate exams. However MBBS and BDS students need a minimum of 80% marks to qualify.
Marks requirement for DVM and nursing students
DVM students must secure at least 75% marks while nursing students require 65% marks in Intermediate. Non Muslim students applying for BS programs need at least 55% marks.
Special relaxation for blind students
All blind students are eligible for the laptop regardless of their marks which makes the scheme more inclusive. However students who have already received a laptop under any previous scheme are not eligible to apply again.
Deadline extension brings new opportunity
This extension is seen as a major opportunity for students who missed the earlier deadline due to various reasons. Many students are now rushing to complete their applications before the final date.
Laptop scheme boosts digital education
