The victim, identified as Anaya, was the daughter of Danish, and reportedly went missing while playing outside her home in a neighborhood of Faisalabad on Tuesday morning. Her sudden disappearance prompted immediate concern from family members and neighbors, who launched a search when she could not be found.

As the investigation progressed, the Ghulam Mohammadabad Police brought in Ehsan, the girl’s teenage cousin, for questioning based on information provided by anxious relatives. During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to killing Anaya by strangling her, police said. Following his confession, authorities were guided to a nearby field close to Link Road, where Anaya’s lifeless body was recovered.

According to the police, the motive for the killing stemmed from a dispute arising from a “bad joke,” which apparently angered the young suspect and escalated into a fatal act. Investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death and have not yet released official details.

After discovering the body, police transported it to a hospital mortuary for post‑mortem examination, which will help determine the precise cause of death and contribute to the ongoing investigation. The devastating incident has left the victim’s family and the local community deeply shaken, prompting calls for stricter supervision and awareness around the protection of children.
