According to police sources, Teefi Butt was arrested in Dubai during a private dinner party after a strategically planned operation by the Dubai Police and Pakistan’s extradition cell.

Reports say DSP Khalid Waria from the police extradition cell had traveled to Dubai to track down two absconding suspects. During his visit, he received a confidential tip that Teefi Butt was attending a private gathering at a local apartment. Acting swiftly, the joint team raided the venue and arrested him without resistance.

Police officials confirmed that the suspect is currently in Dubai Police custody, and the process for his extradition to Pakistan has already begun under Interpol’s red warrant.

Pakistani authorities are in constant contact with Interpol and Dubai Police to ensure the suspect’s quick return for trial in Pakistan.

It is important to note that on February 19, 2024, Amir Balaj Tipu, son of the late Tipu Truckanwala, was shot dead during a wedding ceremony near Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore. Following the incident, Taifi Butt and several other suspects fled the country, sparking an international manhunt.

The capture of Taifi Butt marks a major breakthrough in one of Lahore’s most high-profile murder cases. The joint operation between Pakistani and Dubai authorities highlights increasing cooperation on cross-border criminal extradition. If successfully returned, Butt’s trial could expose key details about the Balaj Tipu assassination, which shook the city’s underworld earlier this year.
