OGRA approves gas price increase

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification to increase gas prices. The new gas prices will be implemented from July 1, 2025.

According to an OGRA spokesperson, the increase in gas prices will not apply to domestic consumers; only the monthly fixed charges for domestic consumers have been increased.

According to the notification, fixed gas charges for protected consumers have been increased from Rs400 to Rs600, while fixed charges for non-protected consumers have been increased from Rs1,000 to Rs1,500.

According to the notification, fixed charges have been increased by Rs1,000 to Rs3,000 if the monthly gas consumption exceeds 15 cubic meters.

According to the spokesperson, gas prices for roti tandoor, commercial, general industry, CNG sector, cement and fertilizer sectors have not been changed.

An OGRA spokesperson said that gas prices have been increased for bulk consumers, the power sector and industry, while fixed charges for domestic gas consumers will increase.
