KP announces hundreds of vaccinator jobs amid polio concerns
According to an official notification issued by the KP Director of Health Services, more than 830 vaccinators will be recruited under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
Officials said the recruitment process has already begun, and all appointments will be made on a temporary contract basis for the financial year 2025–26. The government has allocated Rs253.16 billion for the recruitment drive, while selected vaccinators will receive a monthly salary of Rs40,000.
District Health Officers across the province have been directed to complete the hiring process as quickly as possible. Authorities have also released a district-wise list of vacant positions. Recruitment will be conducted under the Initial Appointment Rules for Civil Servants 2026.
The announcement comes at a time when Pakistan continues to face concerns over new polio cases and vaccination challenges in some sensitive areas. Earlier this month, two new polio cases were reported in Bannu and North Waziristan, raising the total number of cases in the country this year to three.

According to sources at the National Institute of Health, one case was reported from Jani Khel in Bannu, while another emerged from Gariom in North Waziristan. Officials said the union councils of Jani Khel and Gariom remain difficult for polio teams to access due to security concerns.
Due to the security situation, anti-polio vaccination campaigns are currently not being carried out in these areas. Health experts believe that the recruitment of additional vaccinators could help strengthen immunisation coverage and improve efforts against preventable diseases across the province.
