
The aim of the step is to make these costly and complex treatments free for citizens of the province.
Barrister Saif, Advisor to CM on Information, stated that the provincial government will now offer transplant and implant services completely free of charge, aiming to provide better healthcare access to the public.
He added that the move aligns with the vision of the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and marks a revolutionary step in the province s healthcare system.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, where it was resolved that the government will bear the full cost of kidney, liver, and bone marrow transplants, as well as cochlear implants. The Chief Minister has directed the Health Department to take immediate steps to implement the decision.
Additionally, the rehabilitation of drug addicts will soon be brought under the Sehat Card program, enabling more effective treatment and care for affected individuals.
The cabinet also approved regulations for the use of the cannabis plant, with the aim of enabling its application in medical treatment, research, and industrial purposes.
