DRAP imposes ban on counterfeit medicines

LAHORE: (Web Desk) The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) issued a warning on Sunday regarding fake antibiotic capsules and painkiller tablets.
As per reports, the medicines named Aerosaf and Taramakin. DRAP declared these medicines substandard and imposed an outright ban on their sale.
The authority identified the fake products as Aerosaf 250 GM Capsule Batch HF 001 and Taramakin 225 mega tablet TRD 2002, stating that their quality and samples did not meet the required standards.
In its advisory, DRAP urged all medicine distributors to refrain from selling these counterfeit products and instructed the Regulatory Field Force to increase market surveillance to prevent the sale of the banned medicines.
Moreover, DRAP ordered strict action against anyone found involved in the distribution of these fake and substandard drugs.
