Hannah Einbinder reacts to Ed Sheeran latest statement amid Macklemore controversy
The dispute began after Macklemore was removed from the US shows following his public support for Palestine during his performances at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Sheeran later said the decision was made by the tour promoter and venues rather than by him. He also said he wanted his concerts to remain focused on music rather than politics.

The ‘Hacks’ star shared a post about Sheeran and added a sarcastic message directed at the singer.
“Ed Sheeran i say this as a ginger. i hope you get a REALLY bad sun burn the kind on the back of your entire body where it hurts to lie down or walk or sit.”
Her post quickly attracted attention from fans, with some praising her response while others argued that Sheeran should not be held responsible for a decision he says was made by promoters and venues.
Tour faces major shake-up
The Ed Sheeran Macklemore controversy has grown further after all of Sheeran’s opening acts withdrew from the tour.
Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Irish band Beoga have all announced that they will no longer perform on the remaining dates.
The artists expressed support for Macklemore and raised concerns about freedom of expression and the circumstances surrounding his removal.
The Ed Sheeran Loop Tour has therefore faced a major change, with the supporting lineup now completely altered.
Why was Macklemore removed?
Macklemore performed his protest song ‘Hind’s Hall’ during his September 4 and 5 appearances at MetLife Stadium.
He also said “Free Palestine” during the shows and spoke about the situation in Gaza.
Following the performances, several venues reportedly objected to Macklemore remaining on the tour. Sheeran later said some venues threatened to cancel their shows if Macklemore continued as an opening act.
