
Achyut Potdar, a well-known Indian actor who starred in the popular movie 3 Idiots, died on Monday at the age of 91.
He was admitted to a hospital due to serious health problems before his death. His final rites will be held on August 19, 2025, in Thane.
Achyut Potdar appeared in a number of well-known TV series and Bollywood films.
Among his well-known movies are Yeh Dillagi, Ardh Satya, and 3 Idiots.
He appeared on television in programs such as Bharat Ki Khoj, Majha Hoshil Na, Mrs. Tendulkar, and Wagle Ki Duniya.
Interestingly, Achyut never had formal acting training. After a lengthy career as a professor in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, he started acting at the age of 44.
Prior to that, he was a member of the Indian Army, retiring in 1967 as a Captain. He subsequently worked for Indian Oil, where he retired in 1992.
Even while working in his regular jobs, Achyut followed his passion for acting by participating in plays and theatre.
His film career started in 1980 with the movie Aakrosh. After his death, fans shared heartfelt condolences on social media, mourning the loss of this talented and humble actor.
