‘The Immortal Man’ will bring back the iconic Peaky Blinders character, first introduced in the hit TV series, where Murphy played a powerful gang leader in Birmingham. The film will revisit Tommy Shelby as he faces his past, his inner struggles, and the legacy he leaves behind.
Although the movie is expected to close a major chapter in Tommy’s story, Murphy says it does not feel like an ending to him. The actor, who played the role for more than a decade, shared that stepping away from the character is not easy.
Murphy also said he believes a film is not complete until audiences watch it. Because of that, he feels unable to fully process saying goodbye to Tommy Shelby until the movie is released.

Recalling the final day of shooting, Murphy described it as surprisingly quiet and emotional. He said the last scene was filmed in heavy rain in the Peak District, with fading light and no big farewell moment.
Despite filming being wrapped, Murphy admitted the experience did not feel dramatic or final. Instead, it left him with a sense that Tommy Shelby’s presence still lingers.
The much-awaited Peaky Blinders film ‘The Immortal Man’ is scheduled to release in March 2026, keeping fans eager to see how Tommy’s story unfolds on the big screen.
