The drama is a joint production of Pakistan and Turkey. Before being telecast in Urdu in Pakistan, it was released last year in Turkish language on TRT.
After its release in Turkey, it has now been aired in Pakistan with Urdu dubbing on a private TV channel. It will be aired every week from Monday to Thursday.
Uğur Güneş plays the main role of Salahuddin Ayyubi in the drama, and the main roles have been played by Turkish actors.
“Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi” was announced to be made in December 2021 and its short teaser and trailer came out almost three years after the announcement.
Pakistan’s Ansari Films and Turkey’s Akli Films signed a deal in Serbia in August 2021 to make the drama.
Auditions were also held in Pakistan for the cast of the play, in which 6,000 Pakistani artistes participated, and later there were rumors of casting several well-known actors, including Ayesha Omar.
Pakistani fans have expressed their happiness over the telecast of Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi in the Urdu language.
It is to be noted here that many Turkish historical dramas have been telecast in the Urdu language in Pakistan including Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Kurulus: Osman.
