TikToker Ayesha Akram pardons all accused in Greater Iqbal Park harassment case

LAHORE: (Web Desk) TikToker Ayesha Akram, who was allegedly harassed by men at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park in 2021, said Monday that she was not interested in pursuing the case and that she had forgiven the accused.

The TikToker submitted an affidavit to a sessions court in Lahore in which she stated that she had forgiven all accused in the case namely Bilal Akram, Saddam Ali and others. She added that she had no objection to their release.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case until August 26. A case was registered against the alleged harassers at Lorry Adda police station.

It is to be noted here that Ayesha Akram was harassed and humiliated in broad daylight by 400 men at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park on August 14, 2021.

The incident made headlines in national and international media as the accused also filmed the girl while harassing and groping her.

The incident drew severe public outrage, and people called upon the authorities to award exemplary punishment to the accused.
