Malayalam filmmaker Shafi passes away
MUMBAI: (Web Desk) Famous Malayalam film director Shafi passed away at the age of 56 due to a stroke.

It is notable that Shafi was widely known for his comedic films and was considered one of the most successful directors in the Indian film industry.

His real name was M.H. Rashid, and he was the younger brother of renowned screenwriter and director Rafi.

Shafi suffered a stroke on January 16 and was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi. He remained in intensive care for several days and passed away on January 25.

Shafi and his late brother Rafi were the nephews of legendary filmmaker Siddique, with whom they worked as assistants in several films during the 1990s.

In 2001, Shafi began his professional career as a director with the film One Man Show starring Jayaram. Some of his famous films include Kalyanaraman, Povill Kalyanam, and Mammoottik’s Thommanum Makkalum.

Shafi s passing has left the entire film industry in mourning. His fans and the Indian film industry will always remember his remarkable contributions.
