The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned popular social media influencers Iqra Kanwal, Mudassar Hassan, Muhammad Anas Ali, and Muhammad Husnain Shah over their alleged involvement in promoting illegal online gambling and unlicensed trading platforms.
These influencers are being investigated for their role in marketing gambling apps and encouraging young people to invest in unregulated online platforms.
The NCCIA has asked them to appear at their Lahore office on September 2, as part of a criminal investigation. Officials say the influencers were involved in creating ads and campaigns for apps like World 777, which allegedly targeted users with gambling activities.

Authorities believe these apps used influencer promotions to make risky gambling appear glamorous, encouraging people to spend money on these illegal platforms.
The investigation has expanded, with other influencers also under scrutiny for promoting or supporting such gambling campaigns. The NCCIA warns that if the influencers fail to show up for questioning, they may be considered guilty, or their right to defend themselves could be waived.
Regulators have already blocked several illegal gambling apps and are considering further action, including arrests, asset tracing, and cooperation with financial authorities to stop the flow of money into these unregulated sites.
