Aamir Khan strongly denies Faissal’s allegations in joint family statement
(Web Desk): Bollywood icon Aamir Khan and his extended family today issued a rare and powerful joint statement rejecting the explosive claims made by his brother, Faissal Khan.

The allegations, accusing Aamir of mistreating him and confining him to their Mumbai home for over a year, have sparked widespread public attention.

In response, the family described Faissal’s portrayal as “hurtful and misleading,” emphasizing that all decisions regarding his care were made collectively, in consultation with medical professionals, and always rooted in “love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing.”

“We are distressed by Faissal’s hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it is necessary to clarify our intentions and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.”

The statement urged the media to handle the issue sensitively and not turn it into “salacious, inflammatory, and hurtful gossip.” The message was endorsed by numerous family members, including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Kiran Rao, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, Imran Khan, and many others.

Earlier, in various interviews, Faissal claimed the family labelled him schizophrenic and dangerous. He alleged that his phone was taken, he was kept under surveillance by bodyguards, and forced to take medication—all while isolated within the home. “I was looking at myself thinking, how do I escape this ‘chakravyuh’ (vicious cycle),” he said.

Beyond confinement, Faissal revealed feeling emotionally and socially cut off:
“Aamir had locked me inside the house for a year. My phone was taken, I couldn’t go out. There were bodyguards outside my room. I was given medicine.”

Additionally, Faissal described a chilling isolation:
“They were saying I’ve got schizophrenia and I’m a mad person… I can harm society… I was stuck in a trap because the whole family was against me.”

The brothers  strained relationship is not new. In the early 2000s, a legal battle over Faissal’s signatory rights and a mental health evaluation at JJ Hospital—where he was found mentally fit—highlighted longstanding tensions. The pair last appeared together in the 2000 film Mela, which underscored their now distant personal and professional ties.

While Faissal continues to share his side of the story publicly, Aamir Khan and his family stress that the actions taken were intended to safeguard Faissal’s well-being. Aamir Khan’s family has requested the public and media to treat this matter sensitively and not turn it into hurtful gossip.
