Easy and Delicious Fish and Chips Recipe for Iftar

Ingredients:

  • Fish fillets (boneless) – 4 pieces
  • Potatoes – 3 large (for chips)
  • Flour – 1 cup
  • Cornflour – 2 tablespoons
  • Egg – 1
  • Cold water – about 1 cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Red chili powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic powder (optional) – ½ teaspoon
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Oil – for frying

How to Make Chips:

1.     Peel the potatoes and cut them into long sticks (chips).

2.     Soak them in cold water for 10 minutes.

3.     Drain the water and fry the potatoes in hot oil until golden.

4.     Remove and sprinkle lightly with salt.

How to Make Fish:

1.     Rub salt, black pepper, and lemon juice on the fish fillets and let them rest for 10 minutes.

2.     In a bowl, mix flour, cornflour, egg, red chili powder, and garlic powder.

3.     Add cold water to make a thick batter.

4.     Dip the fish pieces into the batter, coating them well.

5.     Fry in hot oil on medium heat until golden and crispy.

Serving Suggestion:
Place the fish and chips on a plate, serve with lemon wedges, ketchup, or mayonnaise. Perfect for Iftar!
