The spokesperson of the Power Division said the government is fully committed to giving maximum relief to the public. He stated that a total relief of Rs46.56 billion has already been provided to electricity users.
According to the details, electricity tariffs have been reduced by 71 paisa per unit overall. Over the past two years, the industrial tariff has been cut by Rs14.44 per unit. It has come down from Rs49.19 to Rs34.75 per unit, which is expected to support industries.

The spokesperson further explained that in January and February alone, consumers received a net relief of Rs26.85 billion. Under quarterly adjustments, Rs48 billion relief was given, while monthly fuel price adjustments added Rs21.18 billion, but the overall impact remained in favor of relief.
From July to February, consumers were provided relief worth Rs33.29 billion. Out of this, Rs13.28 billion came through monthly fuel adjustments, while Rs33.29 billion was given through quarterly adjustments.
The spokesperson added that the government has absorbed the pressure of rising global fuel prices to protect consumers. He said efforts are ongoing to keep electricity prices stable and providing relief remains the top priority.

The relief looks big in numbers. But many people still feel electricity is expensive. Real impact will be seen in monthly bills.
