Petrol and diesel prices increase again, what will drivers pay now?

The Petroleum Division has issued a notification announcing revised petrol and diesel prices effective from 25 July. The latest increase has pushed fuel prices to new highs, adding to the financial burden on consumers.

According to the notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs3.66 per litre. After the increase, the new petrol price has reached Rs335.18 per litre.

The notification also confirmed an increase of Rs4.80 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel. Following the revision, the new diesel price has been set at Rs383.46 per litre.

This is the second fuel price increase announced within a short period. A day earlier, the government had also increased the petrol price by Rs4.40 per litre and the diesel price by Rs3.62 per litre.

The repeated increase in fuel prices is expected to affect transport costs and the prices of essential goods. Consumers and businesses are likely to feel additional financial pressure in the coming days.

The government revises petroleum prices periodically based on changes in international oil prices and other economic factors. The latest notification has now come into effect across the country.
