Petrol and diesel prices cut in Pakistan – Check new fuel rates
The Prime Minister’s Office said the prime minister had promised the nation that relief would be given whenever financial space was available. It added that this promise has now been fully fulfilled.
According to the official statement, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs22 per litre. Diesel prices have also been cut by Rs22 per litre, giving equal relief to consumers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that providing relief to the public remains his top priority. He added that relief was also given last week when fuel prices were reduced.
He further said that the federal government has continued relief measures even in difficult economic conditions. Subsidies were provided for public transport, goods transport, motorcycles and rickshaws.
The statement also claimed that when other countries in the region faced fuel shortages, Pakistan ensured smooth availability. This was made possible due to timely decisions by the government.

It added that during a global oil crisis, despite rising international prices, the government provided subsidies of more than Rs130 per litre. This helped prevent further increases in local fuel prices.
The fuel price cut brings immediate relief to the public. Transport and daily travel costs may decrease slightly. The government is trying to balance global oil pressure with local affordability. However, long-term stability will depend on international oil trends.
