The Suzuki van carrying wedding guests overturned near Ansari Sugar Mills on Zardari Road in Badin. The accident created sudden panic among families who were returning home after attending a ceremony in Matli.
According to initial information, the van flipped when its tie-rod reportedly snapped. At least 18 people were hurt in the crash. Among the injured were 16 women and two children, all of whom were seated inside the overcrowded vehicle.
Police from Matli and volunteers from Edhi rushed to the spot. The rescue team shifted the injured to the Tehsil Hospital in Matli. One woman, whose condition was critical, was later referred to the Civil Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced care. Other passengers were given first aid at the local facility.
At the time of the accident, all the passengers were on their way back to their village, Rais Laki Rind in Sanjar Chang, after attending the wedding event in Matli. Their return journey turned into a frightening experience within moments.
