China has announced new fully funded scholarship opportunities for international students, including Pakistanis, for the 2026 academic year. The programs are offered by East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) under Chinese and Shanghai government funding.
The scholarships cover full tuition, on-campus accommodation, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of 3,000 CNY for Master’s students and 3,500 CNY for PhD candidates. Many programs do not require IELTS, depending on the medium of instruction.
Master’s programs span 2.5 to 5 years, while PhD programs run 3 to 4 years. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health and hold the required previous degrees. Programs taught in Chinese require HSK certificates, while English-taught programs may require TOEFL or IELTS scores unless exempt.
Required documents include academic transcripts, degree certificates, passport copies, two recommendation letters, proof of language proficiency, a study plan, and a police clearance certificate. Additional achievements such as published research or awards may improve selection chances.
Applications must be submitted online through ECUST’s portal, along with a 600 CNY application fee. Only one application per person is allowed, though students may upload multiple scholarship forms. The deadline for applying is February 15, 2026.
