Lahore gets first 180kW EV fast-charging station - location revealed
The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) inaugurated Lahore’s first 180kW electric vehicle fast-charging station. The facility has been established on Shami Road to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles.
The new facility on Shami Road marks a major step towards electric mobility in Pakistan.
Lesco Chief Executive Officer Engr M Ramzan Butt officially inaugurated the station during a special ceremony. The company said it provided a fast-track grid connection and technical support to make the project operational within a short period.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ramzan Butt said Lesco is committed to supporting Pakistan’s transition towards electric vehicles. He added that modern power infrastructure is essential to meet the country’s future transportation needs.
According to the power utility, the launch of the charging station is an important milestone in the development of electric mobility infrastructure. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating more EV charging projects across its service areas.
The 180kW charging capacity is expected to reduce charging times significantly for electric vehicle owners. Faster charging facilities could help address one of the biggest concerns among potential EV buyers.
