PESHAWAR: (Suno News) As protests broke out in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) against prolonged power cuts, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur visited a grid station in Dera Ismail (DI) Khan where he restored power supply and ordered 12-hour loadshedding on all feeders in the province.

While talking to the media, he said the police will not register an FIR against the KP people or parliamentarians on Pepco’s complaint.

He blamed the federal government for not fulfilling its responsibility regarding the electricity and financial issues of KP, and he also accused the federal government of stealing the mandate.

He urged the people of KP to avoid damaging Pepco’s assets, and he insisted that the duration of loadshedding should not exceed 12 hours on any feeder.

He said he had informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about Rs1,600 worth of funds that the Centre owes to KP.

He warned if the national grid reduces the power supply to KP, he would stop the electricity supply from the province.

He said, “I am telling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the last time to give Khyber Pakhtunkhwa its due money.”

He added Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sought KP’s support for the talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a loan package.

He stated, “Firstly, I want the money of the province to be paid to it, and if it is not paid, we will inform the IMF that they are getting money in our name but not paying to us.”

The KP chief minister further said, “It is my warning to the prime minister that you are forcing us to push your government out of power.”

He added, “I know, how to expel you out of power. No one can prevent us from taking our due rights.”

He also reiterated to shut down the national grid if an uninterrupted power supply was not assured to KP.

He also asked the KP assembly members to go to their respective grid stations personally and restore the power supply in the areas where 12-hour loadshedding is being conducted.
