Federal, KP govts come up with a solution to loadshedding: Gandapur

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) After two meetings with federal ministers for interior and energy on Monday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that the federal and provincial governments had come up with a solution to the problem of loadshedding.

 Early on Monday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Energy Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari met KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in Islamabad at the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad.

In the first meeting, the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leaders agreed on holding mutual consultations for addressing various issues between the Centre and the province.

They discussed various issues faced by the KP and acknowledged the progress made on electricity loadshedding in the province. They then agreed to meet again on Monday.

During the second meeting, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Energy Minister Owais Leghari talked about this important issue in detail. Afterwards, the troika held a joint press conference in Islamabad.

Gandapur on the occasion said that the government was working on the causes of line losses to improve power supply. He said that the government would take important steps on the problem and would provide substantial relief to the people.

Gandapur emphasized that loadshedding was a major and long-standing problem of the people which not only affected the daily life but also created law and order problems.

The CM said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was providing electricity to the entire country and various issues had been resolved through mutual consultation. He also emphasized that the model developed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be implemented in other provinces to improve power supply across the country.

The Chief Minister said that there was no war with the institutions and that he did not have any differences with the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to him, problems can be resolved only through mutual consultation and cooperation and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was following this principle.

The chief minister said that his government was taking all possible steps for public relief. He said that the model that had been created to eliminate loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be implemented in other provinces to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the people across the country.

He said that KP government had taken various measures to solve public problems and in this regard his government was making all possible efforts to provide relief to the people. He said that various projects were under consideration to improve the situation.

On the occasion, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that positive discussions had taken place with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and solutions had been found on various issues through mutual consultation. He said that critics of politicians must be ashamed today because the government had taken practical steps to solve public problems.

Federal Energy Minister Owais Laghari said that various measures were being taken to solve energy problems in the country and the measures taken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were an example of this. He said that despite the difficulties, the government had made all possible efforts to provide relief to the people and has achieved success in this regard.
