(Web Desk): The World Bank (WB) has issued a strong warning for Pakistan, saying that the country must create 30 million new jobs over the next decade.

If this target is not achieved, experts fear rising social unrest and an increase in illegal migration.

According to the report, Pakistan needs to generate around 2.5 to 3 million jobs every year. This is important to keep up with the growing population and provide opportunities for young people entering the workforce.

The World Bank highlighted several sectors where job creation can increase quickly.

These include infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and tourism. These industries have the potential to absorb a large number of workers.

At the same time, experts stressed the need for business reforms and better access to financing to support growth.

The discussion titled “Safe Passages, Secure Futures” also focused on women’s role in the economy. It said improving safety, mobility and protection from gender-based violence is necessary so that women can access education and job opportunities.

Without these improvements, a large part of the population will remain outside the workforce.

Experts believe Pakistan has a young population, which can be a big advantage. However, without enough jobs, this advantage could turn into a problem. The country must invest in human capital and skills to benefit from its demographic strength.

Pakistan needs jobs fast. Millions of people are entering the market every year. If jobs are not created, problems may increase. But if handled well, this can boost the economy and growth.

Pakistan’s unemployment rate is estimated to be around 5.4% to 5.5% in recent years. This means that about 5 to 6 out of every 100 people in the labour force do not have jobs but are actively looking for work. Although this number appears moderate, it has been rising due to economic challenges, putting pressure on the job market.
