(Web Desk): FBR has admitted that taxpayers are facing intermittent problems with the IRIS portal as the tax return filing deadline approaches.

The issue has created difficulties for people trying to submit their tax returns online.

Teams working to fix problem

In a statement on X, FBR said its teams are working to resolve the portal issue. The tax authority said it would inform taxpayers once the problem has been fixed.

Deadline increases pressure

FBR acknowledged that the filing deadline is close and said it understands the importance of the IRIS portal for taxpayers. The portal is widely used by taxpayers to submit their returns and complete related tax filing requirements.

FBR apologises to taxpayers

FBR also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing IRIS portal problems. The authority’s statement indicates that efforts are continuing to restore normal access before the filing deadline.

The IRIS portal issue could create additional pressure for taxpayers as the deadline gets closer. FBR’s response suggests that the problem is being addressed, but taxpayers may still face difficulties until the portal works normally.
