The State Bank of Pakistan has announced the official banking holiday schedule for Eidul Fitr and Pakistan Day 2026. Both public and private financial institutions across the country will remain closed on specific dates to observe these national celebrations.
According to the notification, banks, stock exchanges, and financial institutions, including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), will be closed for a total of four days.

Holiday Schedule Details
- March 20–21, 2026 (Friday & Saturday): Eidul Fitr holidays for all banks and financial institutions
- March 22, 2026 (Sunday): Weekly off
- March 23, 2026 (Monday): Pakistan Day holiday
- March 24, 2026 (Tuesday): Normal operations resume for banks and stock exchanges
The announcement ensures that all branches of commercial banks, the State Bank, and other financial institutions will reopen on March 24, while the Pakistan Stock Exchange will also resume regular trading from the same date.
Impact on Citizens and Businesses
Customers and businesses are advised to plan transactions in advance, as banks will be unavailable during the holiday period. Digital banking services may remain operational, but in-person services will not be available.
