Rupee gains ground against dollar – What’s fueling the shift?

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) In an unexpected turn, the Pakistani Rupee strengthened by 09 paisa against the US Dollar in interbank trading.

The local currency closed at Rs280.97, compared to the previous day’s Rs 281.06.

Meanwhile, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the US Dollar was being bought at Rs 281.25 and sold at Rs 282.75 in the open market.

In other currency movements, the Euro saw a drop of Rs1.08, closing at Rs318.98, down from the previous Rs320.06. The Japanese Yen also lost 02 paisa, settling at Rs1.95, while the British Pound dropped by 35 paisa, closing at Rs373.47.

On a positive note, the exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal both increased slightly by 03 and 02 paisa respectively, closing at Rs76.49 and Rs74.90. Could these small but significant shifts signal bigger changes ahead in Pakistan’s currency market? Stay tuned for updates!
