The first project, ‘Project Readiness Financing’ for the Karachi-Rohri Section of Main Line-I, involves USD 10 Million.
The second, Project Readiness Financing for Quetta Bus Rapid Transit (Quetta BRT PRF), totals USD 3.8 Million.
The third, Balochistan Water Resources Development Sector Project–Additional Financing, amounts to USD 48 Million.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs praised ADB as a trusted development partner. He said these projects will support sustainable economic growth, improve Quetta’s urban infrastructure, and boost agricultural productivity in Balochistan.

He also acknowledged the Ministry of Railways and the Balochistan government, urging timely and efficient use of funds to ensure project success.
ADB Country Director Ms. Emma Fan appreciated Pakistan’s strong commitment to these initiatives. She highlighted the importance of the Balochistan projects and called the railways improvement project, such as Project Readiness Financing (PRF), a key step toward modernizing the rail network.
Ms. Fan also reaffirmed ADB’s continued collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and stakeholders to ensure alignment with Pakistan’s broader development priorities.
