(Web Desk): Britain, Canada, and Australia have formally recognized Palestine as an independent state in a decisive move towards reviving the long-dormant two-state solution.

The simultaneous announcement is a new international push to resume Middle East peace negotiations and strengthen Palestine s international stature on the United Nations platform.

In a joint statement, the awarding of the recognition is seen as a shared commitment to peace in the region and as an expression of intensifying international scrutiny of the dwindling hopes for a two-state solution to escalating tensions.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized that although expectations for the two-state solution have deteriorated, the vision needs to stay alive. He repeated that Hamas has no place in Palestine s political future and reaffirmed the UK s commitment to seek a sustainable peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also reaffirmed Canada s acknowledgement of Palestine, strongly condemning the Israeli government for holding back progress. He emphasized that a two-state structure is the only sensible path towards lasting peace, based on human rights and international law. Carney demanded that justice and equality should lead the way.

He also denounced the increase in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank as a main hindrance to peace and stability and condemned the ongoing violence that jeopardizes diplomatic efforts. Canada and Britain reaffirmed that Hamas has to be kept out of any Palestinian government in the future to guarantee a peaceful and democratic future for the Palestinians.
