LAHORE (Web Desk): The Palestinian group Islamic Jihad has rejected US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza conflict.

Islamic Jihad said the plan would increase violence in the region. They called the American-Israeli plan a formula to ignite more aggression. The group accused Israel of trying to force its goals through the US, which it could not achieve by war.

Trump’s plan includes a ceasefire, the release of hostages by Hamas, disarmament of Hamas, and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. It also suggests sending a temporary international force to stabilize the region.

A transitional authority led by Trump and other foreign leaders would govern Gaza temporarily. The plan bans Hamas and other groups from having any role in Gaza’s government.

People in Gaza are skeptical about the plan. Many called it a failure and unrealistic. A Gaza resident said the plan aims to trick Palestinians into releasing hostages but will not bring peace.

The rejection of Trump’s peace plan by Islamic Jihad highlights deep divisions in Palestinian politics and skepticism about US-led solutions. The plan’s demands, including disarmament of Hamas and exclusion from Gaza’s governance, are seen as unacceptable by key Palestinian groups. Public opinion in Gaza reflects distrust, with many fearing the plan may escalate tensions rather than bring peace. This reaction signals challenges ahead for any diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict.
