Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved two significant urban development projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and city aesthetics in Lahore. The initiatives include the construction of an underground parking facility at Nasir Bagh and the beautification of the historic Tollinton Market.
To tackle the persistent parking issues and ease traffic congestion around Nasir Bagh, an underground parking plaza has been greenlit, with an allocated budget of Rs. 1.8 billion. The project is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow in the area while providing modern parking solutions for residents and visitors.
In addition, a comprehensive beautification and renovation plan for Tollinton Market has been approved with a budget of Rs. 200 million. The project aims to revamp the market’s infrastructure, upgrade pedestrian walkways, and improve the overall visual appeal of the site. Tollinton Market, one of Lahore’s oldest commercial hubs, will benefit from improved facilities, which officials hope will attract more foot traffic and boost business for local vendors.
These development schemes reflect the government’s continued efforts to modernize Lahore’s urban landscape and improve the quality of life for its citizens. Following Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s approval, both proposals will be forwarded to the provincial cabinet for final authorization.
