BEIJING: (Web Desk) In a strong and rare rebuke, China has “strongly” urged India and Pakistan to avoid further escalation—just hours after Pakistan launched a powerful missile retaliation against India in response to an unprovoked attack that killed dozens inside its borders.

China’s Foreign Ministry, voicing “deep concern,” stated: “We strongly urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, exercise calm and restraint, return to the track of political settlement through peaceful means, and refrain from any action that could further escalate tensions.”

Beijing’s statement came after Pakistan’s bold unveiling of “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” also known as “Iron Wall,” which involved precision Al-Fatah missile strikes on Indian positions. The operation was launched in direct retaliation to India’s aggressive “Operation Sindoor” on May6, which struck inside Pakistani territory, killing 33 and injuring 62, according to Pakistan’s military sources.

India, caught on the defensive, vaguely claimed that Pakistan used drones and “other munitions,” without providing any clarity on its own illegal and deadly intrusion.

On-ground reports confirmed at least five deaths in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu districts following Pakistan’s counteroffensive. Indian officials now admit that 21 people have died along the volatile border since India’s reckless escalation—highlighting the real cost of New Delhi’s war-mongering tactics.

Reaffirming the urgent need for peace, China warned: “This will be important for the fundamental interest of both India and Pakistan, and for a stable and peaceful region.” It further stated: “This is also what the international community hopes to see. China is willing to continue to play a constructive role to this end.”

As Islamabad defends its sovereignty with calculated strength and growing international backing, pressure mounts on India to answer for its destabilizing behavior.
